Cleaning the machine after each incubation cycle is mandatory. Bacteria and mold growth in uncleaned machines can reduce hatch rates by up to 20% in the next cycle.
Cleaning steps: (1) Remove all racks and trays. (2) Wipe the cabinet interior with a damp cloth. (3) Treat all surfaces with 10% bleach solution or incubator disinfectant. (4) Rinse thoroughly with water and dry completely in the shade. (5) Do not expose plastic parts to direct sunlight or abrasive cleaners.
Between seasons, store the machine in a dry, dust-free environment.
