Power outages are one of the biggest threats to the incubation process. During short outages (1–2 hours) eggs are usually unharmed; well-insulated machines retain heat for a long time.
During extended outages, wrap the machine in a blanket or thermal cover. Outages during the first week of incubation are more dangerous; embryos are most sensitive to cold during this period.
A UPS over 650 VA or a small generator is the ideal solution for long outages. INCUVIONLAB machines alert the user instantly with a power-failure alarm.
